Imperialism


Imperialism is the extension of rule or influence by one government, nation, or society over another. In 1914, African territories were under European powers. The powers are Great Britain, France, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Italy, and Independant. Those countries adopted new imperialism. The Boer War had an affect on the Zulu nation because the Boer War was between the Boer's and the British. The Zulu nation was taken over by the British. As a result the Zulu nation was also involved in the war with the Boer's due to being taken over by the the British after their war. This was all an effect of the imperialism on another nation. Europeans used motives for imperialism. Racism was a major role that took place because the whites and blacks faught a lot which had to do with ideological. Thier were many slaves that had to work and carry items which had to do with economics. A book with writings and laws on it has to do with political motive. Imperialism had a large effect on how governments acted.

Industrial Revolution

Summary - Industrial Revolution, term usually applied to the social and economic changes that mark the transition from a stable agricultural and commercial society to a modern industrial society relying on complex machinery rather than tools.

The Industrial Revolution begin in Great Britain because at that time Great Britain had all the factors of production. The factors of production are land, labor, capital, demand, technology, and infrastructure. Land is the natural resources used in making a product. The labor is the human effort used to make products. Capital is the human-made goods that are used in the production of other goods. The amount of money used for products and other services is called demand. Technology is how advanced a product is or could be. The basic physical systems of a country's or community's population is called infrastructure. All these factors of production were the cause of the Industrial Revolution to begin in Great Britain. No other country had all six factors of production.

French Revolution!

Dom Pedro!!!


Dom Pedro is an independent leader. Pedro's revolution year was 1822. The country that the Independence was achieved from was Portugal. The geographic area where independence was achieved from was Brazil. The independence was achieved when Dom Pedro became the ruler of independent Brazil and Portugal. Pedro's father made the colony of Brazil a kingdom. When Pedro's father died Dom took over the Brazilian government. As a result, Dom Pedro became the ruler of the independent Brazil and Portugal. In 1822, Dom Pedro declared Brazil’s independence and was installed as its first emperor of that year.The Enlightenment influenced the movement by it leading to a revolution which was the French Revolution. The French Revolution influenced the independence movement by showing if you fight for something so much and for so long then it might happen. The French won its independence after fighting a long and bloody revolution and Dom's father fought for the independence and then handed it down to Dom who won the independence.

Entry Three Napoleon

Summary - Napoleon Bonaparte was a powerful force in Europe from 1799 to 1815. He rose from the ranks of the French army to become the emperor of France. By 1812 he had control of most of Europe. Unfortunately, he met his demise when he attempted to invade Russia. His downfall was almost as swift as his rise to power.

1.) Napoleon’s character and leadership style is that he was a powerful, controling, and forceful leader who rose in power and then fell in the power, he fleeded to Elba do to the people because they did not like him.
2.) Napoleon has had positive effect on Europe because he controled most of Europe and he gave the citizens many laws that helped them. He had a negative effect on Europe because he was a not a good leader and many of his troops died do to his bad leadership.

Entry Two- French Revolution

Summary - The French Revolution is defined as the political upheaval of world importance that began in France in 1789. Inspired by the success of the American Revolution, French citizens overthrew the noble, ruling class and establish a democratic government. The French monarchy under Louis XVI was viewed as oppressive and corrupt and the social structure was rigid, meaning it did not allow for social mobility which eventually forced the people to demand change.

1.) The main reason the French revolted against Louis XVI was because he was oppressive and corrupt and the social structure did not allow for social mobility of the people.
2.) The enlightenment philosophers influenced the French Revolution because it stated the rights of frenchmen.
3.) The French Revolution was a success because it gave the citizens more rights and gave them some laws that they wanted. It was unsuccessful too because many people died during the Revolution as well.

Entry One- The Enlightenment

Summary - The Enlightenment was a philosophical movement of the 18Th century characterized by belief in the power of human reason and questioning authority. Many enlightenment philosophers like John Locke, Voltaire, and Rousseau published their ideas on government.

1.) The Enlightenment philosophers influenced change in society by publishing their own ideas on government.
2.) The most influential enlightenment philosopher is Voltaie because he let people have a freedom of speech and followed the good English way.
